When did "check the transcript" replace "let me help"?

When did "check the transcript" replace "let me help"?

After a recent meeting, someone asked for clarification about a task. They were told: "Just look at the transcript – everything's recorded."

Technically correct. But something vital was lost.

Yes, AI gives us (near) perfect meeting notes. Yes, we can search transcripts. But we're trading spontaneous human connections for searchable databases. We're replacing clarifying conversations with "ctrl+F."

Think about it… When someone asks you a question, they're often seeking more than information. They want perspective, reassurance, or simply human connection.

A transcript can't provide that.

The more we automate communication, the more we need to protect what makes us human –  empathy, understanding, and the willingness to help each other.

Right?
